Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is only a few weeks away. This gets bigger and bigger each year, with a huge chunk of Christmas shopping happening on this one day (really, the whole weekend). That means that if you want to sell product for Christmas, you need be have inventory on hand before Black Friday. The kids are already starting to get their wish lists made, and aggressive rinks need to make sure that the kids are thinking about skates for Christmas well ahead of time. Consider bringing in some inventory so that you'll have the skates ready for the parents to pick up. Make a nice display in your rink so that the kids are thinking about skates instead of video games or other toys. We've got several tools available to help make it easier for you. . .
Our new 2010/2011 catalogs are now in stock. They have pics, descriptions, and suggested retail pricing for our most popular skates and accessories. They have a spot on the front cover for you to put your rink's name and contact info. The catalogs are an excellent sales tool, the kids love them, and they're free. Ask for some with your next order and start handing them out this weekend.
We also have several different promo posters from our vendors. These make great pro shop decorations, they help promote skate sales, and they're also free. Ask for a pack with your next order.
We now have oval bumper stickers to help promote skating. They're similar to the ones you see with black ink on a white background to promote different tourist locations, except these say "RLR" or "SK8" to promote roller skating.
Remember that UPS does not deliver on the Thursday or Friday of Thanksgiving. So please don't wait until the last minute to get your orders placed.

The International Sports and Skating facility in Mt. Laurel, NJ is hosting a one day seminar on risk management. Noted attorney Larry Zucker will be the main speaker. They will also have a presentation on the Roller Skating Rocks program (www.seskate.com/rsr). There is no cost to attend. It will be on November 22, starting at 9:30AM. Always skate smart. Use appropriate protective gear. If you're not an experienced skater then learn to skate indoors at a roller skating rink. It's a flat and smooth surface with no traffic to deal with. We strongly encourage you to take lessons (most skating rinks offer them).
