Roller Derby's Hornet, Rocket MDX, and ZX9 inline skates have arrived. These are three different lower priced inlines in adjustable sizes for the children's market. These are excellent skates for a rink to keep in inventory. Because they're adjustable you can have a complete size run with only two or three pair on your shelf. Plus, because they're so inexpensive, it won't cost much to buy a few pair.
The first few months of the year are always strong months for skate sales. There is a lot of emphasis on December and the Christmas season, but January, February, and March have always been three very good months for skate sales. A lot of children get cash for Christmas and they're looking to spend it. In November and December you see a lot of regular customers coming every week, the parents see that their children are skating on a regular basis, this is a good time to encourage them to spend some money on skates for their kids.
Tour's Thor LX5 skate has been delayed due to a problem with the skate. They're hoping to reintroduce this one in the spring.
The Roller Skating Rocks webinar was a big success. 90 rinks participated live in the first ever webinar for the skating industry. If you missed the live version, we have a saved version that you can view whenever you choose at https://www.makeaskatement.com/participate. This is a great way to get the latest info about the roller skating industry's marketing campaign. Or, if you're already a member, the webinar is a great way to encourage other rinks to join the program.
The Extreme Inline Rental skates are being discontinued, to be replaced by the Excel 5500 skates. The Extremes have been our most popular inline rental for many years, if you like this skate, get some while they're still available. All sizes are still in stock except for 5, 6, and 7.

Always skate smart. Use appropriate protective gear. If you're not an experienced skater then learn to skate indoors at a roller skating rink. It's a flat and smooth surface with no traffic to deal with. We strongly encourage you to take lessons (most skating rinks offer them).
